LoveLifeMusic self-entitled CD
Record review by TC Krentz |
Matthews has generated a profoundly positive pop debut record. Their style, appropriately compared as Stevie Nicks meets Seal, is artistically beautiful and deep as well as very infectious. The musical genres implemented range from jazzy funk, acoustic rock, reggae, celtic folk. The message the musicians are delivering are clearly conveyed through both the upbeat music and potent lyrics. "The biggest thing that we're about," says Matthews, "is being self aware, being aware of your choices, and being aware that you're here. Being aware of the person next to you, that we are one, that we do love each other. It doesn't mean that you have to change the world, but you do have to be aware of your choices." This CD could not have been released in a more timely year than this, with all the talk of change and the need for positive-ness in our world, LoveLifeMusic can be considered the soundtrack for that movement. |
